Nothing sits on a shelf here. You tell me what you want and when, and it comes out of the oven that morning — crust crackling, crumb open enough to hold butter.

Four steps

How ordering works

The same rules as the printed menu, minus the back-and-forth.

  1. 01

    Build a docket

Add the loaves, pick the flavours, say how many boxes of scones. If the granola needs pistachios and pepitas, that's what the notes are for.

  2. 02

    Propose a day

Choose the day and the band of time that suits you. The docket won't offer a day the dough can't make.

  3. 03

    We confirm

An email back with the day locked and the exact hour, so nobody is standing on a doorstep guessing.

  4. 04

    Hand-off

Collect it yourself, or we bring it to your door in Washington Heights and Inwood. Pay by card, Zelle, Venmo or cash.

"Thank you for being the butter to my bread."

The note that goes in the middle of every boxed order. Scones travel well, so they're the one thing we can hand over without a long wait.

Keep it good

Every loaf comes with a care card.

Sourdough is a live thing. Here's the whole card, so you don't have to find it in a drawer to know what to do.

  • Eat it within four to five days — that's when it's at its best.
  • Keep it on the counter, in a paper bag or a bread box. That's what protects the crust.
  • Never the fridge. It dries the loaf out and stales it faster.
  • The freezer is fine for up to six months: plastic wrap first, then a bag as airtight as you can get it.
  • Slice before freezing with parchment between the pieces, so you can take one at a time.
  • Thaw at room temperature, or toast slices straight from frozen.
  • Gone stale? Heavily sprinkle with water and 5–10 minutes in a 375°F oven.

About the baker

Micaela Podlipny

Welcome! My name is Micaela Podlipny and I have lived in Washington Heights for almost a decade.

Baking has always been my way of building community, showing up for community and thanking community. It is the softer version of myself that's often overshadowed by my "crusty" exterior.

What I bake with is what yields results, and quality ingredients have always been my top priority. Bread is meant to be broken and shared.

I am excited and grateful to share it with you!
